The drama was more like a war between light and darkness where Chief Haladu Ade Amaka and his corruption team stood opposite the anti-corruption team of ACP Yakubu leaving the Jury of the court of law to function like a football referee. From the view of Frank Ogbeche, the author of “Harvest of Corruption”, every evil has a place of creation. Hotel belonging to Madam Hoha was the evil rendezvous; there, Chief Haladu Ade Amaka met with Ochuole, Aloho and the rest corrupt entities.
Jacassa, presumably is the main setting of the drama and the central theme of the drama is about the corruption in the civil service. Harvest of Corruption tells a story of Jacassa’s Minister of External Relations named Haladu Ade Amaka who was the kingpin of corrupt practices in Jacassa. He embraced money and feministic influence as his tools for manipulation. Chief Haladu goaded Commissioner of Police, Justice Odili, Madam Hoha, Ochuole, etc into his group with the power of money while few of his corrupt desires were achieved with the charm power of women.
The actions of Chief Haladu Ade Amaka began to turn against him when Aloho was caught by Jacassa Drug Law Enforcement Agency (JDLEA) for an attempt to smuggle cocaine of Jacassa, as if that wasn’t problematic enough, Chief Haladu also commanded Aloho to get rid of the pregnancy she had for him, as if that wasn’t problematic enough, complication during childbirth led to Aloho’s death.
It wasn’t only Aloho who reaped the reward for impatience and corruption, other evil perpetrators later met their own tragic flaws as well by facing jail times; Chief Haladu Ade Amaka was sentenced to twenty five years imprisonment, Justice Odili was sentenced to twenty years imprisonment, The Commissioner of Police was sentenced to twenty years imprisonment, Ochuole was sentenced to ten years imprisonment, Madam Hoha was sentenced to ten years imprisonment also.
Harvest of Corruption is truly a tragic drama where extreme love for money led to greed and greed led to corruption.
